Top 3 Reasons for Running
  1. I love my job. It’s an honor and a privilege to represent District 3. I strive to be accessible, transparent, and honest. I want constituents to believe that even when we disagree, I have reasons for the choices that I make, and that’s why I strive to be clear and direct, and I expect the same from my staff.
  2. I choose to raise my family in East County because of what East County has to offer, a high quality of life with good schools, safe communities, great parks and trails, local farms, and recreational opportunities on the Delta. While East County and the Bay Area are undeniably growing and changing, I’m committing to making sure that we work together to make sure that those changes take our history into account—the things that make the Delta unique.
  3. I believe in the County’s mission. At different points in my life, I’ve benefited from services that the County provides. As a Californian, I believe that diversity is our strength, and that the pursuit of equity and inclusion makes us stronger.

Top 3 Reasons for Running
  1. The "final straw" led me to pull papers for District 3, is because I was dissatisfied with how one of our current Supervisor's was duplicitous about taking a position on Measure L. I feel that we need strong leaders that are willing to take positions on legislation that may not be popular with the people that helped them get elected, but represents the local constituency.
  2. I feel it is important to provide the East County Democrats a candidate that they can count on to vote, act and legislate as a Progressive Democrat. It is equally important to work across the aisle, however, I will never endorse or support candidates from the party of Trump.

Top 3 Reasons for Running
  1. We need a supervisor that will show up and work hard for the county
  2. We need a supervisor that will be responsive to constituents.
  3. Our current District 5 Supervisor has had more than 20 years in office and has little to show for it - there has been little progress on the Northern Waterfront Initiative, the housing crisis is growing, and we need to do more to improve economic opportunitiey in the county.

Top 3 Reasons for Running
  1. I have a number of projects I would like to see through in my last term: Numerous transportation projects, including creating commuter ferry service from Hercules, Martinez, Bay Point and Antioch to/from San Francisco; approval of efficient and responsible growing, manufacturing, distributing and retail dispensary services for legalized cannabis operations in the County; as the Urban Limit Line comes up for consideration.
  2. Approval of efficient and responsible growing, manufacturing, distributing and retail dispensary services for legalized cannabis operations in the County; as the Urban Limit Line comes up for consideration, I want to make certain that we contain growth and preserve our open spaces, hillsides and agricultural land through institution of a ratified Urban Limit Line; pushing for stronger safety measures on BART to keep riders safe.
  3. Continuing to upgrade programs (social, housing, jobs, healthcare, etc.) for homeless individuals and families who are living on the streets or in their cars, and for formerly incarcerated individuals who are making a new life for themselves.
